NJIT Traditions

Much has changed in the world since Newark Technical School welcomed its first class of 88 students in 1881. At the same time, however, there are continuing traditions at NJIT that date to the university’s founding and which have grown ever stronger over the past 125 years.

These traditions are passed down from class to class and provide common experiences across generations of students.
